Mueller Company (Mueller Co.), the nation’s leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an opening in our Mueller Co Cleveland TN plant for the following position, CMM Programmer.
Job Summary:
The primary function of the person filling this position is to perform part, process, and system audits as well as to conduct part/product dimensional layouts to ensure adherence to the Mueller operating procedures, guidelines, and specifications. Daily documentation, interpretation and reporting of those findings to the appropriate management function will be required. Overtime and Weekends will be required according to general production schedules.
Essential Functions:
Write, maintain, and general maintenance and upkeep of all CMM and inspection programs including and not limited to: vision system(s), ball measuring systems, CMM, and other systems as required. Conduct part/product analysis using mathematical and statistical models. Develop error detecting, error proofing and quality improvement tools and methods. Conduct the Receiving Inspection function on items purchased from outside vendors to determine conformance to specifications. Conduct dimensional and visual layout of parts to determine conformance to specifications. Use of Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and other measuring tools as required. Write and implement detailed Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs with which to conduct dimensional verification of parts and determine conformance to specifications. . Conduct gauge calibration activities as needed and maintain computerized gauge calibration system. Analyze product complaints from Customers for determination of failure and report findings to Supervisor, Quality Manager, and Customer Service as needed. Assist all engineering functions as required in regards to product testing, fixture building, identification of MRO purchased items, special projects and development of QC systems.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required. Advanced certification or Associates degree in Drafting, Design Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology or other related Technical discipline preferred. Strong, communications and interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all levels of employees, customers and outside professionals. Must have 2 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting working with CMM systems Familiarity working with Blueprints, Specifications, 3D applications and Microsoft Office Software.
Working Conditions:
The employee will be required to perform the following actions: Standing, Walking, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing, and Sitting. The employee will be working in a production plant environment, thus exposing him/her to production operations. The employee will be exposed (occasionally) to the following working conditions: Extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and metallic particles.
