Quality Field Inspector icon Mechanical is seeking qualified professionals to join our Quality team. We are a full-service mechanical contractor, engineering and construction firm specializing in the design, fabrication, installation, modification, and ongoing service of process piping, industrial ventilation and commercial HVAC. With offices in Granite City, IL, St. Louis, MO and Nashville, TN, icon has a diverse portfolio of clients extending across 42 states, and internationally in Mexico and St. Croix. Our team designs projects to be built for market sectors which include healthcare, commercial, industrial and institutional. We are currently looking for a Quality Field Inspector to join our Quality department located at our office in Nashville, TN. Our ideal candidate for a Quality Field Inspector will be someone who is a self-starter with 3+ years of experience. We are looking for an individual who has meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality standards in fabrication, and possesses strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and external partners. Primary Responsibilities for icon’s Quality Field Inspector include: Performing thorough inspections, audits, and tests on mechanical systems such as HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing to verify adherence to design specifications, codes, and standards, proactively addressing discrepancies and suggest improvements to enhance quality. Collaborating with the Quality Management team, Project Managers, Engineers, and construction personnel to offer advice on quality matters. Reviewing and ensuring project documentation, including plans, specifications, and submissions, meets quality requirements. Maintaining meticulous records of quality control measures including inspection reports, testing outcomes, quality assurance checklists, and certification specific to assigned projects. Ensuring comprehensive documentation is accessible and well-organized for reference. Overseeing pressure tests on piping and ductwork to certify system integrity and compliance with safety and quality benchmarks. Engaging with subcontractors and external inspection entities to synchronize inspection and testing efforts, ensuring consistent quality control across all operations. Primary Qualifications for icon’s Quality Field Inspector include: Possessing a weld Inspection certification (CWI, VT-Level II, API, etc.) is preferred. Expertise in Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, Sheet Metal) and their associated codes and standards. Capable of periodic travel, spending approximately 30% of the time visiting jobsites and fabrication shops to perform quality-related tasks. Experienced in welding, brazing, fusing, testing, and examination. Analytical acumen with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and test results. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures. Showcases strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentational skills. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clients, and other contractors.
