We are currently looking for a Quality Shop Inspector to join our Quality team located at our office in Nashville, TN . This position encompasses both shop and field responsibilities, ensuring that quality standards are consistently upheld throughout the fabrication and installation processes. Our ideal candidate for a Quality Shop Inspector is someone with 3+ years of experience who has meticulous attention to detail for top-quality fabrication, and strong communication skills for effective team and partner collaboration. Primary responsibilities for icon’s Quality Shop Inspector include: Performing thorough inspections, audits, and tests on mechanical systems such as HVAC, Piping, and Plumbing to verify adherence to design specifications, codes, and standards, proactively addressing discrepancies and suggesting improvements to enhance quality. Conducting dimensional verifications and executing visual inspections on welded and other mechanical joints. Collaborating with the Quality Management team, Project Managers, Engineers, and construction personnel to offer advice on quality matters. Reviewing and ensuring project documentation, including plans, specifications, and submissions, meets quality requirements. Maintaining meticulous records of quality control measures including inspection reports, testing outcomes, quality assurance checklists, and certification specific to assigned projects. Ensuring comprehensive documentation is accessible and well-organized for reference. Overseeing pressure tests on piping and ductwork to certify system integrity and compliance with safety and quality benchmarks. Engaging with subcontractors and external inspection entities to synchronize inspection and testing efforts, ensuring consistent quality control across all operations. Primary qualifications for icon’s Quality Shop Inspector include: Possessing a weld Inspection certification (CWI, VT-Level II, API, etc.) is preferred. Expertise in Mechanical Systems (HVAC, Piping, Plumbing, Sheet Metal) and their associated codes and standards. Capable of periodic travel, spending approximately 30% of the time visiting jobsites and fabrication shops to perform quality-related tasks. Candidates must be willing and able to work flexible schedules, including day or night shifts, as well as overtime hours as required to meet operational needs. Experienced in welding, brazing, fusing, testing, and examination. Analytical acumen with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and test results. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality control processes and procedures. Showcases strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentational skills. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clients, and other contractors.
