CMM Operator
- Job Description
- The CMM Operator plays a crucial role within the Quality department, supporting all activities related to the launch and sustainment of automotive car parts. This position requires expertise in managing CMM equipment, including programming and operating, to ensure all parts meet customer expectations.
- Responsibilities
- + Program and operate coordinate measurement machine for part and gage qualification per customer requirements (PC-DMIS; Hexagon).
+ Generate reports for coordinate measurement machine per customer and/or PPAP requirements. + Maintain history for coordinate measurement machine results per customer and/or company requirements. + Manage Plex gage control module for tracking calibration/R&R frequencies per customer/company requirements, including setting up new gauges and managing systems thereafter. + Verify new gauges (certification) upon receipt. + Manage calibration for all gauges serviced by an external source, including scheduling and submitting payment requisition in Plex. + Manage gage control per AIAG, customer, and/or company requirements. + Submit pre-requisition in Plex for replacement gauges and items needed for gate maintenance/repair. + Maintain NIST traceability on all gages used for quality purposes. + Keep the Quality department office area and Quality Lab organized. + Assist employees with the use of lab equipment if needed. + Conduct internal audits of the gage control system, including floor audits. + Perform layered process audits when required (weekly; monthly).
- Essential Skills
- + Proficiency in CMM programming and operation. + Experience with PC-DMIS software. + Ability to manage Plex gage control module.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Experience with Hexagon equipment. + Knowledge of AIAG and PPAP requirements.
