Quality Control Manager Opening gpac is partnered with aStructural and Miscellaneous Steel Fabricator seeking a CWI! TheQuality Control Manager/CWI is responsible to oversee theapplication of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program,including inspections, weld procedures, material receiving, audits,paperwork, working in a misc. Metals and Steel fabrication shopenvironment, being involved in ‘Code Work’ and auditing of all QCpaperwork prior to submittal.
CWI Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensurecompliance with QMS and AISC’s certification requirements. DocumentControl for QC and Welding Understanding and working knowledge ofconstruction codes and standards and the application of effectivequality control measures Read and understand material and weldingspecs per contract documents. Understanding of welding proceduresand welder qualifications (WPS, PQR, WPQ, etc.) Writing WeldingProcedure Specifications (WPS) Organizing and Qualifying nonprequalified WPS Organizing and Qualifying in house Welders PrepareJob Specific Weld package Submittals Manage and follow projectspecific QA/QC plans (Quality Plans, ITP’s, etc.) in coordinationwith the Project Team, the owner/client, applicable specifications,codes, and contract documents. Arrange for Third Party testing andinspections. Analyze and report results Perform in houseinspections. Checking fit up and layout to assure assemblies arebuilt to the prints. Coating Inspections. Assure thorough paperworkis created and maintained and auditing of paperwork is taking placein the following areas:

COC MTRs CWI Qualifications:
AWS CWIrequired. Have demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing andsolving problems. Proficient in using Microsoft Office and G Suite.
Communication:
excellent oral presentation and written skillsrequired.
Organizational:
able to plan, prioritize, organize.
Collaboration:
Able to work well in a group environment and fostera team approach.
