Theessential job responsibilities of the Electric DistributionOperator 1 are to monitor and control the multiple operations ofthe electric distribution system by use of the Computer-AidedDispatch Electric System (CARES); responsible for maximizing systemefficiency and minimizing service interruptions; coordinatedepartmental work with appropriate departments, contractors,customers and other external entities.

Qualifications QualificationRequirements:

To perform the Electric Distribution Operator 1 role,you must:

• Have an Associate degree in Electrical or MechanicalEngineering Technology or high school diploma of General EducationDevelopment (G.E.D.) with 4 years of experience in craft/technicalfield related to the engineering, construction, maintenance oroperation of the electric distribution or operations systems.
• Havesuccessfully completed Basic Electricity, Operator Placement Testand Color-Blind Test 2
• Successfully complete NIMS Training within1 year of entering job
• Have basic knowledge of power systems-Successfully complete Electric Distribution Operator 1 TrainingManual within one year of entering the job
• Have a valid driver’slicense from state of residence

Physical Working Conditions:

Worksin office under good conditions. Subject to sitting for longperiods of time, during storms/outages, eye fatigue, hearing due toradio communications, bending, stooping/crouching to get maps, andlight lifting of maps. Shift work required.
