Opportunity:
An established and growing construction and metal fabrication firm is seeking a Quality Control Inspector with a strong background in structural steel. This is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground role best suited for candidates who enjoy detailed inspections, working closely with production teams, and maintaining high standards of craftsmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect fabricated steel components to ensure they meet project specifications and quality standards Interpret and review blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications Conduct material and weld inspections using non-destructive testing methods Accurately document inspection results and maintain compliance records Collaborate with production and fabrication teams to identify and resolve quality issues Ensure adherence to safety regulations and AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) standards
Required Qualifications:
Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification Solid understanding of structural steel fabrication and assembly Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding inspection Experience reading and interpreting technical blueprints and specifications Strong communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the construction or structural steel industry Familiarity with AISC standards and industry best practices
