Job Description
Quality Control Technician Togo North America, Inc. 9534 Eubanks Road, Portland, TN 37148 Conduct routine and non-routine inspections on raw materials, in-process parts and finished good. Communicate with suppliers as needed to resolve any issues concerning incoming product receiving data. Work with Purchasing and Quality to resolve any incoming product nonconformances. Assist with PPAPs as needed. (Dimensional layouts, Cpk studies, Gage R&Rs, etc.) Perform various tests in the lab, including microstructure hardness testing. Record inspection data and maintain records. Work with people on the production floor as needed, help with proper completion of paperwork, train proper techniques for gaging parts, communicate visual conditions that are acceptable or unacceptable, answer questions or help to find answers. Possible quality or suspect material issues need to be investigated, report findings to management, supervisors, or other applicable personnel. Strive to resolve quality issues prior to bringing it to management’s attention. Maintain the gage calibration / verification system. Ensure gages are calibrated / verified at planned due dates. Set up calibrations with outside companies as needed. Determine calibration/verification schedule with the Quality Manager’s input if needed. Calibrate, validate, or maintain laboratory equipment. Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses. Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks, or inventory forms. Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved. Identify quality problems and recommend solutions. Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, or protocols. Investigate or report questionable test results. Review operator inspection records, investigate and report any out of spec readings. Assist with customer corrective actions. Perform receiving inspections on incoming supplier product. Maintain receiving inspection records, including material certifications. Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained. Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems. Internal auditor, issue CARS Help prepare for quality management audits as directed. Work with people on the production floor as needed, help with proper completion of paperwork, train proper techniques for gaging parts, communicate visual conditions, Train other analysts to perform laboratory procedures and assays. Conduct special tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager or Quality Engineer.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education :
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience :
Two to four years related experience. Knowledge of Quality system and IATF requirements in the automotive industry.
Familiarity with the following equipment:
Hardness tester, Optical comparator, Micrometers, Calipers, Plug Gauge and other gauges as needed.
