Tester 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 2176 Portland Street, Saint Johnsbury, VT 05819 Summary Under direct supervision or using test procedures performs routine tests to determine defective PC assemblies, PROMS and electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies Essential Job Duties Performs operational tests on PC assemblies, PROMS, and electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies in accordance with test procedures to determine good product, (accept/not accept). Completes appropriate paperwork as required. Performs routine troubleshooting limited to determination of faults prompted by the test system, visual examination and failure symptoms. Can, with the aid of microscopes, schematics and multi-meters, detect and repair etch shorts between nodes on a printed circuit board. Programs and verifies PROMS. Can perform duties of lower labor grade electronics personnel. Required Qualifications – Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered. (Additional requirements may be designated by position.) Needs to have High School diploma or GED. Trade School education or equivalent work experience. 1 to 3 years’ experience in electronics preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position. Critical thinker with exceptional attention to detail. Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Ability to utilize test procedures to test and determine product functionality. Ability to develop and maintain positive and productive business relationships. Have a basic understanding of electronics. Work Environment General factory conditions. Exposed to moderate noise levels. The typical schedule is weekdays 7:00 am – 3:30 Must be able to don PPE including safety shoes, or glasses where required in the on-site manufacturing areas. Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer. Must have finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to work on machinery, computer, telephone, and related office equipment. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
