Job Description
Mascot head maker- full time Chicago mascot company 1065 Tildenville School Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787 The Chicago Mascot Company is looking for talented and detail oriented craftspeople to join the team at our Winter Garden, Florida facility. We are looking for motivated and creative individuals who have experience in costumes or props to join our head building team. Working under the head team supervisor you will create mascot heads from renderings or copy existing heads that are polished and performer friendly. Responsibilities:
Translate renderings and designs into wearable performer friendly heads using various techniques including pattern making, draping, cutting and gluing various foams, cutting and building covers using materials such as furs and fleece, painting, and finishing Use various tools and machinery to complete projects, including, but not limited to, sewing machines, band saw, sanders, dremel, airbrush Sculpting, molding, and casting various pieces for mascot features Record important procedures through paperwork and other documentation Work with supervisors, assistants, and other members of the team to complete projects for deadlines Maintain a healthy and clean work environment Have a positive attitude and be courteous of your fellow workers Be able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and creative work environment Understand and uphold safety standards
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years related experience Be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Be able to follow directions and ask questions Excellent time management skills Be open to learning and adapting to new techniques
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Pattern making and/or draping skills The ability to sew both by hand and by machine Knowledge of various foams and adhesives Any other relevant knowledge or skills; painting, airbrushing, 3D printing, sculpting, mold making and casting.
