Drapery Workroom Assistant Triangle Soft Goods 9400 Ransdell Road, Raleigh, NC 27603 At Triangle Soft Goods (TSG) , we fabricate custom drapery, pillows, bedding, and other soft goods for interior designers and clients across the Carolinas and beyond. We’re looking for a Workroom Assistant to join our team and help us keep up with growing demand. If you’re detail-oriented, enjoy hands-on work, and are good with basic math, this is a great opportunity to learn a skilled trade in a supportive environment.
What You’ll Do:
Measure and cut fabrics accurately based on detailed work orders Calculate fabric quantities using fractions, decimals, and basic math Prepare fabric for production: mark hems, pleats, trim placement, and finished lengths Use a commercial iron to press fabrics for fabrication and packaging Assist with packaging, labeling, and organizing orders for delivery or pick-up Maintain a clean and orderly workspace Collaborate closely with seamstresses and our fabrication team
Schedule & Duration:
This is a temporary full-time position to help us fulfill a large pipeline of current orders. We expect this role to last approximately 90 days , and there is a possibility of continued employment depending on business needs. We’re optimistic about our growth — and if this role helps make us more efficient and profitable, we’d love to bring the right person on permanently. That said, we want to be upfront: continued employment is not guaranteed , and decisions will be based on workload and overall fit with our team. Qualifications >>
Required:
Comfortable working on your feet and at a standing-height table for most of the day Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision Confident using basic math: adding, subtracting, measuring, converting fractions and decimals Willingness to learn new techniques and follow direction carefully Some spoken English required; Spanish-speaking team members are available to assist Reliable and respectful team player >> Preferred (but not required) : Experience working with fabrics or in a sewing-related environment Familiarity with sewing machines or commercial pressing equipment Prior experience in a production, workshop, or fabrication setting Benefits Starting wage of $15/hour , based on experience Full-time, daytime schedule — no nights, weekends, or overtime On-the-job training provided Friendly, respectful team with Spanish-speaking coworkers Potential for long-term employment based on future workload Opportunities for increased pay for those with sewing or machine skills Triangle Soft Goods is an equal opportunity employer.
