Mold Setter Position Available In Spartanburg, South Carolina

Mold Setter Bericap SC LLC Cowpens, SC 29330 We are seeking a talented Mold Setter to join our growing team!

Position Purpose :

This role will provide support to help us produce plastic parts at a high-quality standard by performing the proper set-up and removal of molds from injection molding presses to include the cleaning and inspecting of mold components before changing them out.

Responsibilities:

General Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.) Ensure all quality, food safety, safety, environmental as well as all other Company policies and procedures are followed Ensure that all quality, food safety, safety and environmental issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs Initiates corrective action for non-conformances Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required Able to work unscheduled overtime, weekends and holidays as needed Duties as assigned per Tooling Manager Mold Setting Functions Performing mold related services to schedule (dates due and duration of downtime) Setting and pulling molds in and out of the machines as the schedule requires Ensure the proper tagging and storing of molds Perform cavity plates to remove plastic bubbles from Hot Runner tips when required Maintaining the following: inspection of mold clamps and bolts, water fittings, hoses, ensuring the ejector rods are the correct size and are in satisfactory condition, inspection of hot runner cables, cleaning of hot runner controller, cleaning of platen surfaces while mold is out Responsible for ensuring all part containment components are in place and do not interfere with other mold or press components; this may require some fabrication Responsible for continuous improvement of part containment Responsible for cleanup of water, grease and oil after mold installs Responsible for checking all MLS systems for proper alignment as dictated by the schedule Ensure appropriate tools are used and inspected for damage or wear Responsible for maintaining records in computerized maintenance management system Execute molding related activities in a manner that achieves the department KPI’s Providing support to the maintenance and mold technicians as required

Skills:

Competent in several of the following areas: reading blueprints, pneumatics, hydraulics, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles and basic math. Geometry and trigonometry a plus Basic riggings skills to manage assembled molds and mold plates Working knowledge of injection molding machines Good communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and in writing Basic computer skills

Experience:

Experience in the following areas: hot runner system repair, close tolerance components and injection molding machine function Working knowledge of a computerized maintenance management system ISO or similar quality system and SQF or similar food safety system preferred

Education:

High school or technical college diploma in related field preferred
