Position Summary:

The Kettle Room Operator is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient preparation of sauces, fillings, and other cooked ingredients using industrial kettles and mixing equipment. This role ensures recipes are followed precisely and that all food safety, quality, and sanitation standards are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

Cooking & Preparation Operate large-scale steam kettles and mixers to cook sauces, fillings, or other components according to standardized recipes and batch sheets. Weigh, measure, and load ingredients accurately. Monitor cooking times, temperatures, and mixing cycles to ensure product consistency and food safety. Adjust controls to regulate temperature, pressure, and cooking times as needed. Quality & Safety Conduct in-process checks (e.g., temperature, texture, viscosity) and report any deviations. Ensure all products meet company quality and safety specifications before releasing to the next production stage. Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Use proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols at all times. Sanitation & Documentation Clean and sanitize kettles, utensils, and work areas between batches and at the end of the shift. Complete required production logs, temperature logs, and ingredient traceability records accurately and in a timely manner. Collaboration Communicate effectively with kitchen team, line leads, and QA to ensure smooth production flow. Notify supervisors of any equipment malfunctions, ingredient shortages, or quality concerns.

Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

1+ year of experience in food manufacturing, food service, or industrial kitchen operations preferred. Experience operating steam kettles, mixers, or similar equipment is a plus.

Skills:

Ability to follow recipes and written instructions precisely. Basic math and measurement skills. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness. Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment. Good communication and teamwork skills. Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Work Environment:

Food manufacturing kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise. Use of PPE (gloves, apron, hairnet, safety glasses, etc.) is required. Regular lifting, bending, and moving between workstations.
