Job Description

Kiln Operator:

Fri – Sunday 6am to 6pm $19 per hour 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 1900 W College Ave, State College, PA 16801 At Spectrum Control, most departments operate on a 4-day, 10-hour work schedule in exchange for a 3-day weekend. The Kiln Room Operator processes all ceramic capacitors delivered from the Press, Spray, and Buildup Departments through the Firing Department. The successful person in this role will focus and work independently with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prebake all spray tube lots received from cutting. Dry tumble all discoidals lots received from grinding. Plaque all spray tubes lots, discoidals, extruded and pressed resonators, and pressed product possible on proper setters. Place all product that requires bakeout in proper ovens and bakeout on proper profile. Bakeout all SDP reclaim powder as required. Place all product in proper kilns for firing and cure on proper profile. Maintain all appropriate logs and firing sheets for all bakeout and firing runs. Cool and screen all product after firing and place in appropriate Kanbans. Wet tumble all pressed resonators and tubular product (except strip/refires) and dry. Weigh all tubular product and move to mechanical Kanban. Perform mechanical checks on all pressed discs, all resonators, and all tubes. Sort all necessary defects possible at all steps of the process before continuing to next step. Complete all necessary paperwork and logbook entries. Move all completed product to proper exit Kanbans. Flex to other jobs and departments as needed. Report problems and out-of-specification conditions to shift supervisor for assistance as they occur. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent AND Previous production experience preferred but not required OR Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Basic reading, math, and verbal skills Stand for long periods of time Good or correctable vision Manual dexterity
