Nesco Resource is looking for a 2 nd Shift Production Toolmakerlocated in Waterbury, CT. This is a direct placement opportunityfor the right candidate.
Shift:
Weekdays 5PM-5AM (Mon-Fri 5am-5pm,Thursdays 5PM-9PM)
Pay:
$34/hour or depending on experience (with a10% differential)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled andexperienced Production Toolmaker to support 2nd shift operations.
In this role, you will set up, maintain, and troubleshoot a widerange of deep draw transfer press tooling. You’ll ensure tooling isproperly adjusted and functioning to produce high-quality partsthat meet company standards. This position requires strongmechanical aptitude, precision craftsmanship, and the ability towork both independently and within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Construct, maintain, and repair complex tooling, transfer fingers,and gauges based on blueprints, specifications, sketches, or verbalinstructions. Use advanced shop math and trigonometry to calculatetolerances and build tools to exact specifications. Hand-finishtools through filing, grinding, fitting, and contouring as needed.
Conduct sample production runs, verify quality of initial parts,and obtain QA approval. Heat-treat tools as specified and fabricatespare parts or assist with machinery repairs when necessary.
Perform tooling changeovers, removing previous tools and installingnew setups. Check alignment and functionality at each station toensure compliance. Troubleshoot production issues by inspectingmachinery and tooling, identifying root causes, and makingnecessary adjustments or repairs. Collaborate with maintenance andelectrical teams when technical support is needed. Use computersfor basic data entry, including SPC (Statistical Process Control)inputs. Work efficiently in a collaborative, team-basedmanufacturing environment or independent tooling cell. Provideguidance to machine operators during changeovers and ensureunderstanding of proper machine operation. Maintain a clean, safe,and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies.
Perform related tasks as assigned by leadership. QualificationsExtensive experience with deep draw transfer press tools andcomplex toolmaking. Proficiency in reading and interpretingblueprints and technical drawings. Skilled in the use of precisionmeasuring tools and machining equipment. Strong problem-solvingskills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability towork in a fast-paced production environment and meet qualitystandards.
