Job Title:
Tool and Die Maker Job Description The Tool & Die Maker position is responsible for the building and repair of gauges, fixtures, tooling, and dies. This role involves the assembly and testing of complex tooling and dies within production departments. Responsibilities Use blueprints, sketches, models, or provided specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, and assemblies. Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators. Utilize machining equipment and hand tools to file, grind, adjust, fit, and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, gauges, and tooling. Conduct testing of completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications. Essential Skills 5+ years of tool and die making experience. Ability to manually build and repair fixtures, tools, and dies. Proficiency in reading blueprints and using tooling, machining, and lathe equipment. Experience in die repair and fixture design. Strong math skills, including basic arithmetic and working with fractions. Additional Skills & Qualifications 4-5 years of prior experience in a production/manufacturing setting. Experience as a machinist or toolmaker. Prior exposure to using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers. Must have own basic tools. Why Work Here? Safety equipment such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, rubber boots, aprons, gloves, and hearing protection are required or provided. Employees must wear pants (no shorts, dresses, or skirts allowed). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pompano Beach, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
