Tool Crib Coordinator – CNC Machine Shop Position Available In Duval, Florida

Job Description:

1st Shift – 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

POSITION SUMMARY

With limitedguidance in a team environment, responsible for performing avariety of tooling support duties of a semi complex naturefollowing and developing procedures and processes in two or more ofthe following functions: tool crib, tool setting and tool andcutter grinding, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.

Select, assemble, andset N/C and conventional tooling using presetting equipment toextremely close tolerances, determine correct set length and ensurethat tools are marked and coded properly. 2. Follow setupinstructions found on job setup and process sheets, in the standardtooling catalog or computerized system. 3. Check tools forsharpness and condition and determine if resharpening, retipping,repair or replacement is required and apply protective coatings totools when necessary. 4. Operate and set up some tool and cutter orother grinding machines to sharpen basic tools involving straightsides, single angles, or symmetrical surfaces. 5. Select and mountproper grinding wheel and holding fixtures. Set and adjust speeds,feeds, depth of cut and other machine controls. 6. Assist in theconstruction and checking of new or redesigned tools and reworkexisting tools according to specifications. 7. Diagnose and resolveproblems involving tooling. 8. Assist in maintaining properinventory levels and report deficiencies. 9. Receive, store andissue tools, jigs, fixtures, templates and shop supplies. 10. Checkfor broken, damaged or out of tolerance tools and fixtures, routethem for proper repair and maintain records of withdrawals,returns, breakage and reconditioning. 11. Update necessary toolingsetup information and isolate jobs to be maintained in pre set forfuture runs. 12. Coordinate tooling requirements with manufacturingengineering, purchasing and other functions. 13. Maintain alltooling records for government and customer inventories andinspection. 14. Maintain records of all tooling and fixtures sentto suppliers. 15. Use computer terminal to track tooling activityand tool locations. 16. Observe all safety rules and regulationsand maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. 17. Performother related responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education andExperience Three years related tooling experience or demonstratedability to perform described position responsibilities. Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities Proficient in the use of precision measuringinstruments determining the condition and sizes of all tools andfixtures and excellent knowledge of shop tools, jigs, fixtures,templates, standard tooling system and computer terminaloperations. Proficient in the understanding of the function andgeometry of all types of tools, holders and related equipment. Mustdemonstrate manual dexterity.
