Clinical Chart Abstractor Florida Heart Associates Fort Myers, FL 33907 Florida Heart Associates is a leading provider of cardiovascular care, dedicated to treating all types of heart conditions with a team of skilled physicians, advanced care providers, and nurses. We are seeking a full-time Clinical Chart Abstractor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of CMA or CNA experience. Cardiology experience is preferred. The Clinical Chart Abstractor will review, analyze, abstract, and compile patient medical information into the patient medical record. This role assists in the electronic clinical chart abstraction process by interviewing patients via telephone and maintains patient electronic records. Located in the attractive Southwest Florida Gulf Coast area, Florida Heart Associates is a fully accredited, modern medical center dedicated to meeting the cardiac needs of Southwest Florida. We perform diagnostic cardiac testing, in addition to peripheral vascular procedures. We also support an in-house cardiac PET imaging system, stress testing, ECHO, and management of arrhythmia equipment.

EDUCATION
: High school diploma; at least one year of college in a medical related field
EXPERIENCE
: At least one year of CMA or CNA experience Cardiology experience preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE
: minimum CMA certification or CNA license required
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO
Extract pertinent cardiology information from patient’s medical record and enter the information into EHR. Conduct telephone interviews with new patients to obtain relevant medical history and create an electronic chart. Responsible for ensuring all pertinent cardiology testing/records done elsewhere are in the patient’s electronic chart for physician/practitioners’ review. Responsible for maintaining patient electronic charts for the next day’s clinic schedule for all providers and all locations. Maintain appropriate productivity level. Share work responsibilities within the department. Maintain patient confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned by supervising manager.
PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
Strong working knowledge of cardiac terminology, medications and diagnosis. Ability to apply critical thinking skills in relation to abstracting pertinent data from patient records into EHR. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records and responding to correspondence. Must be organized Ability to work independently, pay attention to detail and prioritize tasks Proficient in technology usage, including but not limited to Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, employees and external customers. Skill in operating computer, photocopier and fax machine. Ability to utilize computer knowledge and skills to enhance job performance. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and all office and medical staff.
