You will be joining a collaborative team responsible for precision fabrication and manufacturing tasks, including sheet metal work, CNC and mill operation, and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure high-quality, reliable device performance. You will also actively contribute to quality assurance, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives that support regulatory compliance and ongoing product development.
Responsibilities include:
Assemble complex medical devices and sample analyzers in accordance with engineering specifications and established quality standards. Perform sheet metal fabrication and operate manual or CNC milling equipment as required for production or prototyping. Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and written work instructions. Document assembly and inspection procedures, including the drafting and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve issues during assembly and testing. Provide on-site field support, including troubleshooting and repairing devices at customer locations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support agile manufacturing and development processes.
Requirements:
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in the medical device or related industry Proficient in sheet metal fabrication and mechanical assembly techniques Experience operating a mill and/or CNC equipment is highly desirable Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Demonstrated experience writing SOPs and documenting technical processes Positive attitude, flexibility, and ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to travel occasionally for field support and troubleshooting Experience with quick demonstration of feasibility for prospective technical approaches Willingness to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, balancing creative freedom with development goals and deadlines Perform job functions independently and collaboratively with minimal direction from supervisor
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO 13485, particularly as they relate to Quality Management System Regulation (QMSR) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Basic understanding of electromechanical systems and diagnostic equipment Experience working with ERP systems or digital work instruction platforms About AAD At AAD, we are committed to our team and customers.
