Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design & Tooling Specialist to lead the development and improvement of mechanical designs, tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and test equipment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, providing training, and supporting key initiatives in safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a Direct Hire opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
Design and rmend new or modifiedponents to meet manufacturing, engineering, or customer specifications.
Develop and maintainplex test equipment, dies, tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
Collaborate closely with engineers, manufacturing managers, and staff across all levels.
Support environmental, health, safety, maintenance, and production-flow initiatives.
Conduct training sessions and knowledge-sharing activities.
Maintain detailed documentation, reports, and task records inpliance withpany standards.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical drafting and/or tool design;
OR
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Drafting, Tool Design, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of machine tool manufacturing processes and equipment.
Proficiency in design software such as Unigraphics, SolidWorks, CAD, or equivalent tools.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical blues, engineering specifications, and geometric tolerancing.
Skilled in advanced mathematical and analytical calculations.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based applications.
Effective written and verbalmunication skills.
Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts, collaborate with diverse teams, and support team goals.
Ability to follow guidance and work independently while meeting deadlines and adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
