Position overview:
We are seeking a Tool and Die Engineering Manager to lead our tool design and toolroom operations. This role requires a skilled and hands-on leader who can manage quoting, design, and production of metal stamping tools, dies, and fixtures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tool and die environments, along with strong design skills using SolidWorks and a solid background in both internal and external resource coordination. You will oversee a team of toolmakers and engineers, drive quality standards, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality tools that support our customer commitments. Key Responsibilities Tool Engineering and Toolroom Operations Oversight Supervise and support team members to ensure the tool room runs efficiently and safely Quote, design, order materials and manage the inhouse and external resources involved in building metal stampings tools, dies, and fixtures Develop and maintain high standards of quality and accuracy Team Leadership Lead and develop toolmakers to build a cohesive and effective team Foster a work environment centered on accountability, collaboration, and respect Planning and Performance Monitoring Foster and maintain productive relationships with customers Streamline the quoting process to deliver quotes promptly Track and follow up on quotes, and develop new quoting opportunities Coordinate with other departments to meet customer demands and delivery schedules as necessary Maintain clear and accurate quoting, costing, customer, and supplier records Qualifications Proficient in SolidWorks CAD software Experience in die design and tool and die making Skilled in quoting new tools and managing complex builds Background in managing external machining and design vendors Familiarity with various manufacturing processes including metal stamping, CNC, and toolroom operation Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate teams Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills Technical degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in tooling design and build Benefits Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses/commissions Comprehensive health, vision and dental benefits.
