Tool & Die Group Leader Overview:
Performs various skilled and semi-skilled in repair and maintenance of Dies and Molds. Work involves primary responsibility for proficiency in several trades.
Responsibilities:
Must know all Safety Requirements, Departmental, and Plant wide Must be able to maintain departmental 5-S for assigned areas and equipment Must be able to complete required departmental paper work. Have general knowledge of computer software and maintenance work order system Having proper safety equipment for working with Dies , hard hat, steel toe shoes Knowing proper procedures of crane usage : How to rig cables for lifting; how to work your blocks for weight of dies; safe ways of turning dies Proper usage of towmotors for transporting dies : Usage of safety straps for securing dies on towmotors Disassembly of molds, being able to follow directions of completely disassembling a mold and placing in an orderly manner Must be able to review molds for problems present and problems which could happen in future Must be able to follow water hook ups from in’s to out’s Must be able to inspect lifting eyes and any other part of the Die which would make moving or work hazardous to yourself or fellow workers Must be able to properly put all pieces back in such manner as you found them Working with Acid Wash System knowing the correct amounts of acid per water mixture and the amounts of neutralizer needed for neutrality Learning Basic actions of all types of Dies and what you can and can’t do Must be able to follow paperwork and filling out work orders or Preventive Maintenance orders the proper way Returning the Dies to proper sections making group leaders aware of all of the above Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer
Education:
High School Education or GED Experience:
1-2 years on the job training verified
Skills:
Considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and practices used in electrical or mechanical areas. Must be able to detect defects in machinery and equipment and make proper repairs or adjustments. Ability to interface and work from sketches and prints.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or reel; reach hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; see; or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move more than 40lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions; high, precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is, moderate to loud but are within OSHA standards.
