Job Description

Tool & Die Technician Taldeco Lebanon, TN We are looking for Die Maintenance Technicians in the Smyrna area.

Job Description:

2nd and 3rd shift Preventative maintenance (open check) dies. Clean, wash, polish, bolt check, etc. Repair jobs assigned each day Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances, using measuring tools such as gauge blocks, dial indicators, thickness gauge, radius gauge, and micrometers. Die trials compute and adjust die using forming and plasticity knowledge, material strength theory, and inspection of panel and checking fixture. Repair and replace locking tankers and locking slide cylinders. Install complete units and charge with nitrogen. Troubleshoot and repair burr issues (cutting edge adjustments, double cut areas, and broken cutting edge inserts with no master area). Repair cutting edge clearance, pierce centering, and maturation in spotting press. Customer ordered Design Change Mikomi (Die maturation) mating surface. Form, bend, trim, pierce location change. Read and follow E/C documents Read blue prints, sketches, panel model for design changes. Heavily damaged die – Make countermeasure and repair. Reconstruct and repair heavily damaged inserts and make small die modifications. Construct and build new dies. Read prints, assembly, die spot maturation and adjustment. Follow up on die trial and adjust at press. Trouble shoot splitting, foldover, necking issues at press calls. Install a complete nitrogen system (Manifolds, lines, fittings, and gas cylinders. Sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, grinders and verifies final part with specifications.

Operate overhead crane:

Rig, flip and move dies in close proximity. Operate large industrial forklift. Class A Exterior die build and repair.
