Water Treatment Plant Operator Position Available In Logan, Arkansas

Water Treatment Plant Operator City of Paris Arkansas Paris, AR 72855 The City of Paris is seeking applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator. The applicant must hold, or be able to obtain within 5 years, a Class IV Water Treatment License from the Arkansas Dept. of Health, and a Class I Wastewater Treatment License from ADEQ. Additionally, some experience in a surface water treatment plant or wastewater is preferred. The applicant should live within 30 minutes of Water Treatment Plant and should be reasonably available for duty at any time. The Water Plant Operator performs duties that include day to day operations of the Water Treatment Plant, such as: sampling, testing, logging water quality data as required by the Arkansas Dept. of Health, operating and maintaining pumps, chemical feed equipment, clarifiers, filters, clearwells and water storage tanks. Also, operating, installing, servicing and calibrating laboratory equipment and online process control equipment, mowing, weed eating, keeping work areas clean, and any other duties assigned by the Plant manager or Water Superintendent. The Water Treatment Plant Operator works in all weather conditions, any hours of the day or night in environments that are frequently hazardous. Hazardous chemicals are handled on a daily basis. Climbing, lifting, and bending are frequently required as well as working at heights and in confined spaces. The applicant should have the ability to think critically, operate under pressure, and for long hours at a time and to troubleshoot and solve treatment related chemical, mechanical, and electrical issues. The Water Plant Operator reports to the Water Treatment Plant Manager and Water Plant Superintendent.
