Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Dual Licensed Water and Wastewater Operator to join our team in Polk County, Florida. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and compliance of both water treatment and wastewater treatment systems to ensure safe and efficient service. This position requires a dedicated professional with experience in plant operations, regulatory compliance, and system troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment facilities in compliance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) regulations. Monitor and adjust treatment processes to ensure water quality and environmental standards are met. Collect and analyze water and wastewater samples, recording results and making necessary adjustments. Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs of treatment systems, pumps, valves, and related equipment. Respond to system alarms and emergencies, troubleshooting issues as needed. Maintain detailed records of plant operations, test results, and compliance reports. Assist with permitting, regulatory reporting, and compliance documentation. Follow safety protocols and ensure all work adheres to industry best practices and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Qualifications:

Required Certifications:

Must hold at least a Florida Class C Water and Class C Wastewater Operator License (higher licenses preferred).

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment operations.

Knowledge of:

Water and wastewater treatment principles, processes, and equipment. Florida DEP regulations and compliance reporting. Mechanical and electrical systems related to plant operations.

Skills:

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Work in various weather conditions. Be on-call for emergencies as required. Valid Florida Driver’s License Required.
