JOB JOIN OUR TEAM AS A UTILITIES FOREMAN
!Utilities labor supervisory work with responsibility for supervising the work of a crew engaged in maintenance and construction activities related to water and reclaimed distribution and wastewater collection systems.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Supervises and participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, wastewater, manholes, water lines, reclaimed lines, wastewater pump stations, and water wells. Directs crew in taking care of complaints relative to water, wastewater, reclaimed systems, and related facilities. Supervises a crew engaged in such activities as making water or waste water taps, rodding waste water lines, installing water, reclaimed and wastewater mains and services, patching streets, and performing related maintenance projects. Schedules and coordinates materials, personnel, and equipment to complete assigned projects. Participates in the work of assigned crew. Performs the more skilled tasks, using specialized equipment and power tools. Instructs and trains personnel in the use of specialized equipment. Maintains records and prepares reports. Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. Performs related work as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION PHYSICAL SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and also push or pull heavy objects. May use a handling device (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessively heavy objects. Ability to bend, squat, stoop, climb, and walk frequently. Ability to manipulate tools and repair parts in a complex pattern of movement. Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication. Must pass pulmonary function test and fit test within (60) days from date of employment.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience in maintenance and construction activities related to water distribution or sewage collection systems. One (1) year of supervisory experience required.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B with “N” Tanker endorsement. Must possess a valid FDEP Level 3 Water Distribution System Operator License and/or FWPCOA (C) Wastewater Collection Technician Certification. Must possess a valid Confined Space Certification. Must possess a valid Intermediate Maintenance of Traffic Certification. Must possess a valid Trenching & Shoring Certification. Must obtain FDEP Level (2) Water Distribution System Operator License and/or FWPCOA (B) Wastewater Collection Technician Certification within two (2) years from date of employment.
