Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Antietam Valley Municipal Authority 502 Butter Ln, Reading, PA 19606 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wastewater Operator with a PA DEP Wastewater License Class B,E Subclass 1,4. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient operation of wastewater treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of an activated sludge treatment plant, pump station and collections system. As a Wastewater Operator, you will be responsible for the daily operations, maintenance and repairs of the treatment system. Responsibilities The Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance and repairs of the treatment system. Monitoring and maintaining the system in accordance with regulatory standards and requirements. Laboratory equipment and instrumentation including collecting and analyzing data related to water quality and treatment processes. Troubleshoot issues with logic controllers and other automated systems. Knowledge of mechanical systems, electical, instrumentation and plumbing is preffered. Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance activities, and data collection. Requirements Proven experience in wastewater treatment. Knowledge of water treatment processes and regulations. Familiarity with logic controllers and data collection methods. Basic math skills for performing calculations related to operations. Ability to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds or more, walk up and down steps, climb and work in confined space areas. Strong analytical skills to assess system performance and make informed decisions. Experience with equipment repair is a plus. A valid PA driver’s license is required. A CDL license is a plus. Candidate must be able to work weekends and holidays and respond to emergency calls on a rotating schedule. A commitment to safety practices in all aspects of work.
