POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Sanitation Manager maintains a good working relationship with employees through strong interpersonal and oral communications, teamwork, counseling, and fair and consistent enforcement of Company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include ensuring sanitation duties are performed in the interior and exterior of the facility.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR DUTIES
Master Manufacturing Sanitation Schedule
- Assist Sanitation Manager to develop/define appropriate cleaning frequency schedule for facility and manufacturing equipment and ensure compliance to scheduling. Maintains MSS records for completion and accuracy of cleaning standards. Cleaning Procedures
- verify cleaning procedures are defined for all equipment on the Master Sanitation Schedule; procedures are followed and are effective. Chemical Controls
- Maintain effective relationship with contracted chemical supplier to ensure controls for manufacturing sanitation chemicals to include utilization, testing, inventories, proper labeling and safety and are compliant with regulatory requirements. Compliance
- Ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEOC, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Food Safety, Sanitation and HACCP, GMPs, etc.
) Ensures Sanitation Department adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices. Takes ownership of department deficiencies and implements countermeasures with the appropriate sense of urgency. Communicates deficiencies and countermeasures to the Sanitation Manager. Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas. Inspects equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards. Personally, understands manufacturing cleaning procedures for environmental and equipment. Seeks continuous learning opportunities. Attends educational classes and seminars for technical and leadership development. Provide direction to team members to ensure sanitation activities are conducted properly. Maintains records and if required places orders for all chemicals used in cleaning and sanitizing. Manage sanitation equipment—including high pressure guns, portable foamers, forklifts, scrubbers, etc. Ensures reports are designated to appropriate plant personnel. Reviews production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations and Facility Work Rules. Other duties assigned by the Sanitation Manager. Examples of Essential Responsibilities and Duties Lead has no managerial responsibilities whatsoever
- but they are required to report inconsistencies, improper behavior, and poor performance to Sanitation Manager.
It is recommended they keep a nightly/daily log of all issues in order to make an accurate report: Cannot Hire Cannot Fire Cannot administer progressive discipline Cannot perform staff evaluations Responsible for ensuring all staff has nightly/daily supplies in order to perform Inspect employee workstations regularly for compliance to applicable standards and procedures. Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS MOBILITY
- Physically capable of unimpeded movement to all areas of the plant.
Able to climb fixed or portable ladders. Able to enter and exit confined spaces as needed. Able to use/operate all power equipment as needed. Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and a maximum of 16 hours daily. Ability to routinely stoop, bend and lift required containers up to 20 lbs. Ability to routinely exert necessary force to move wheeled equipment weighing 500 lbs. SENSORY
- Ability to distinguish color coded equipment and lights on control panels on machinery and equipment, must be able to hear and identify audible alarms.
Must be tolerant of 100+ degree working environment.
COMMUNICATION
- Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, Signs, etc.

Food Sanitation experience
DESIRED EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalence; however, must have demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record information applicable to the job.
