Description
THIS IS A DEPARTMENTAL PROMOTIONAL POSTING OPPORTUNITY. ONLY CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF HAMILTON COUNTY WATER & WASTEWATER TREATMENT AUTHORITY
(WWTA)
WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
Under general supervision, operates and repairs various equipment and infrastructure of the Hamilton County Water & Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA) sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment systems. Responsibilities include inspecting service connections and new sewer construction for compliance with WWTA Sewer Use Rules and Regulations, investigating customer complaints within assigned areas, and supervising the work of other Sewer Maintenance Technicians.

Minimum Qualifications
The equivalent of a high school diploma, plus five (5) years of experience driving multi-axle trucks, vacuum/jetter trucks, pumper trucks, or operating heavy equipment, one (1) year of which must be in a supervisory or lead capacity. A minimum of a valid Class “A” CDL is required. A Hazardous Material endorsement is required.
SAFETY SENSITIVE
This position has been identified as “safety sensitive” under the definition of 49 CFR Part 40-Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Policy. This position will be subject to drug and alcohol testing for the following: 1) post offer pre-employment 2) when there is reasonable cause 3) after an on-the-job accident or contributing to an accident 4) on a random basis 5) prior to return to duty after suspension and/or 6) as follow-up. This is additional and also subject to the Rules and Regulations of The Employee Handbook.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be available to respond to emergency after-hour call-outs, including weekends and holidays, and participate in a stand by or on-call rotation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. This position requires mobility, including the ability to frequently lift or move materials up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 150 pounds. This position requires the ability to operate vacuum/jetter combination truck, pumper truck, crane truck, and motorized vehicles. Required to enter confined spaces.
