JOB DESCRIPTION

Due to our continued success, we are seeking Mill Welders to support Samuel Associated Tube Group in Birmingham, Alabama. Must have the following:
  • Mechanical inclination
  • Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Must have Prior Welding experience preferably stick welding, but any welding experience is a plus.
  • This person is responsible for keeping the mill fed with material and following material splices through the machine to ensure they do not make it to a customer.
  • This person is also responsible for posting all Tube Mill production accurately, quality monitoring on the tube mill, and assisting in all aspects of tube mill change over as well as preventive maintenance and 5s / housekeeping duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Be part of a three-person mill team to ensure operation is completed safely and meets quality standards.
  • Keep mills fed with material.
  • Follow material splices to ensure that they do not reach a customer.
  • Perform administrative tasks as it pertains to production and complete all production records accurately.
  • Monitor quality on the tube mill.
  • Assist in mill changeovers, 5s and preventative maintenance duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial setting.
  • Prior experience performing quality checks on material.
  • Prior welding experience. Stick welding considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to work on a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Mechanical inclination.
