Summary:

The Cylinder Evaluator will be responsible for the inspection and evaluation of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders received for repair. The ideal candidate will be able to make an independent judgment concerning repairs with emphasis on providing the best and most cost-effective repairs and repair processes for both the customer and company.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect components for condition, size, damage, suggested repair or replace, and complete necessary documents. Review drawings and job standard folder if attached. Operate material handling equipment to move components and skid as required. Gather all parts of the cylinder to be inspected. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

Familiarity with micrometers and caliper measuring tools. Must be able to measure the O.D. and I.D of cylinder. Ability to read blueprints. Knowledge of how seals hold pressure and able to assemble cylinders, dry test, and check dimensions. Knowledge of hydraulic cylinders and components is a plus. Experience in computer data entry on Windows based programs Mechanical inclined Other duties as assigned

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Made2Manage.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
