POSITION SUMMARY
- Performs various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings and specifications.

Must be able to read and interpret drawings, follow routers and use simple math to perform basic calculations.
Must be proficient in welding techniques.
Must be able to perform wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum and galvanized.
Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)Manually guides electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld and size of molten puddle.
Welds in flat, horizontal and vertical positions.
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
Positions and clamps work pieces together or assembles them in jig or fixtures.
Chips off excess weld, slag and spatter.
Operates grinders and DA sanders to clean up/smooth welds.
Must be able to perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection using basic measuring tools.
Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.
Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on welders as required.
Operates a forklift to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area.::: {style=”c”}:::
