GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Industrial Welder / Fabricator to produce weldments from a variety of Carbon, Stainless and Duplex Steel with or without assistance of others. Position reports to the Operations Manager. Second shift position.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Performs fit-up, grinding, straightening, burning and welding
- Inspects own work to ensure conformance of parts to drawing dimensions and specifications, including allowance for machining operations if required
- Weld from blueprints, sketches, schematics, bill of materials and other written and/or verbal instructions using the tools of the trade including precision measuring instruments.
- Handle and transport materials in a safe manner utilizing fork trucks, cranes, and other mobile equipment.
- Identify procedures for wedling equipment in the most expeditious and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate documentation such as labor entry and inspection documents
- Performs all assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Support the Company goals of continuous improvement of quality, safety, and the reduction of manufacturing costs and lead times.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Weld with Stick, MIG, TIG welding equipment;
- Excellent mechanical knowledge, problem solving, and analytical skills are required
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments, various hand tools and reading and interpretingplex metric/geometric drawings, blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to operate manual machines.
- Comply with all Company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Maintain work area in accordance with 5S requirements
- Read andprehend written and verbal instructions
- Communicate effectively and work independently or as a team member
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Valid Driver’s License
Minimum Requirement:
Advanced Certificate (ACER) or Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Welding, or 3 years of industrial experience in welding.
Physical and Mental Qualifications
Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines, heavy duty magnets and manual/remote controlled devices using radio signals.
Physical conditions for positions:
Sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, grasp, ascend/descend stairs and ladders, maneuver within tight spaces, routinely lift up to 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, excellent mobility, good hearing, manual dexterity, good balance, ability to endure long hours, excellent problem solving skills, and wear required personal protective equipment. All tasks performed with or without reasonable amodations.
