Job Responsibilities:
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine operations and materials required Set up welding equipment and adjust controls as necessary To join or repair metal parts, perform welding, brazing, soldering, and cutting. Read blueprints, drawings, specifications, or work orders to determine operational sequences or details. Set up welding equipment Select rods or wires of the appropriate type, size, and strength according to the metals to be joined, the welding or cutting position, type of protection required, and type of welding current or power required. Measure, cut, chip, file, and otherwise fabricate metal parts before welding or brazing. Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies before welding Select and apply appropriate welding techniques (MIG, TIG, stick) based on material and project requirements Perform precision welding on various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel Maintain and repair welding equipment and tools Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and defects Grind, chip, or clean welds as needed to ensure proper finish Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment
Skills Required:
Proven experience as a welder, with at least 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints Strong knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail Physical stamina to work long hours, sometimes in challenging positions Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team Valid welding certification is a plus As a contractor with Pridestaff, you’ll have access to various perks, including competitive pay, paid training programs, medical and dental insurance, 401 (k) matching, and opportunities for career advancement.
