Summary Objective To have experienced working knowledge of the Industrial StructuralFitting, Assembly & Welding Industry and the various terminologies,blue print reading, measurements, take outs, job specifications,etc., to build an integrally complete erection system.

EssentialFunctions

  • Fluent in understanding job specification, blue print reading,target point measurements, true /plumb /square checking, and anynecessary torque requirements, for large industrial structural steel systems.
  • The ability to cut, prep, fit and tack small to large; HSS boxtubes, Angle, W-members, Flat Plate, etc., from various materialtypes through true-plumb-square; into weld ready status, by the use of isometric and structural drawings,while adhering to specific fit tolerance requirements.
  • The ability to properly select, measure, hand dress, score andcut with torch, air arc, plasma, grinder, power saws, hand tools,etc., as necessary to prepare metal surfaces for welding process to be completed per job specificrequirements.
  • Installation knowledge of all forms of structural systemhangers, supports, braces, etc., from temporary through jamb-nutcompletion.
  • Strong structural aptitude and problem solver who can understandand follow instruction.
  • Accountability for completion of daily work assignments whilemonitoring quality, safety and health regulations.
  • Operate overhead cranes and or forklifts, while adhering toindustry standard practices of safe rigging systems andtechniques.
  • Safely and efficiently direct and monitor two or morehelpers.
  • Documentation of all quality reporting methods employed per SEAQuality Standards.
  • Complies with all company policies, procedures and safetyrequirements and physically / medically qualified to wear requiredPPE per OSHA standards.

Work Environment This position operates out of a fabrication facility. Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is sometimesexposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts andvibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety ofextreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level inthe work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of thosethat must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job. While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Theemployee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands tofinger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift or moveup to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. First shiftdays and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30p.m. Second shift days and hours of work are Monday throughThursday, 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Occasional weekend work may berequired as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily not required with exception to local travelduring the business day.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Threading, grinding, welding, brazing, rigging, plasma cutting,gas arc cutting.
  • 5+ Years’ related experience or trainingPreferred Education andExperience
  • 6+ Years’ experience in Industrial Structural Fitting.
  • Tack Welding Ability
  • Some vocational technical training is desired Work Authorization Must be authorized to work in USA.
