- Job Description
- Join our dynamic team as a MIG Welder, where you will complete metal projects according to client specifications. Your role will involve choosing materials, selecting gas ratios, and performing various cuts and welds. You will also interpret blueprints, adhere to safety protocols, and assist in maintaining shop inventory and cleanliness.
- Responsibilities
- + Use MIG welding equipment to join metal parts according to blueprints and specifications.
+ Prepare work surfaces by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and treating metal surfaces. + Select appropriate filler metals, wire electrodes, and shielding gases for different welds and materials. + Set and adjust welding parameters such as amperage, voltage, gas flow, and wire feed speed. + Inspect welds for defects like cracks and porosity to ensure quality and integrity. + Read and interpret blueprints to understand welding requirements and specifications. + Clean and maintain MIG welding equipment for optimal performance and safety. + Troubleshoot and resolve issues with welding equipment or processes. + Maintain and track welding supplies and equipment inventory. + Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet project goals. + Assist with the fabrication and assembly of metal structures.

- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Certified welding credentials are a plus. + High school diploma or equivalent. + Additional training or certifications in welding are preferred.

- Work in an open bay environment equipped with fans.
The role includes a weld qualification test involving various testing methods such as bend tests, macro etch tests, visual inspections, or radiographic testing. This position requires Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) proficiency. Work hours are typically 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional extended hours from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and four-hour shifts on Saturdays.
