$24/hr+ (depending on experience) Iron Worker/Field Welder Description – The Field Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and repairing metal components for large structures like buildings. The Field Welder position requires expertise in various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and adherence to safety protocols. Responsibilities Interpret blueprints , drawings, and measurements to plan layouts Use various welding techniques to join metal components accurately and efficiently Keep welding equipment and tools in good working order, performing routine maintenance, and report any issues Prepare and calibrate welding machines, torches, and other equipment for specific welding Work effectively with other tradespeople, supervisors, and project managers to ensure project are completed on time and within budget Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices Qualifications Proven experience as a welder in structural steel field settings Experience with various welding processes Experience with electrical and manual tools Ability to read and interpret blueprint drawings Knowledge of welding codes, standards and welding symbols and their meaning Willingness to use and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) Ability to work in various environments, outdoor conditions, lift and carry heavy materials, and posses the stamina for long hours on the job Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Valid Drivers License Proficient in English (Spanish a plus) Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure to meet deadlines #TCFL
