Welder S2
Reports To:
Foundry Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Welder S2 is responsible for performing advanced welding tasks within the Foundry Core Room, supporting the fabrication and assembly ofponents according to safety standards and specifications. This role requires proficiency in multiple welding techniques and adherence to allpany policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Adhere to all GIW Safety Guidelines and promote a safe working environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area.
Perform all duties associated with Core Room Welder Level 1.
Cut and bend tie-downs for cores as needed.
Cut plate for lifting jigs according to specifications.
Fabricate frames for pouring boxes.
Exhibit proficiency in wire welding techniques.
Exhibit proficiency in stick welding techniques.
Weld rebar for impeller cores.
Cut and weld center plates for impellers.
Demonstrate skillful use of an oxygen-acetylene torch.
Follow instructions and work assignments provided by team leads and supervisors.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous welding experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent:
Standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping; lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 75 lbs.
Occasional:
Overhead work, climbing ladders or stairs, driving forklifts, operating cranes.
