HTI has an exciting opportunity for a Metal Fabricator/Welder with a large start-up manufacturing facility located just south of Augusta, GA (in Waynesboro, GA). The company is an international transformer manufacturer that has recently expanded their operations with their new plant in Georgia. This is a full-time, direct hire, onsite, hourly position. Working hours: Monday – Friday from 7am-4pm
Pay rate: Approximately $26 – $30 / hour, depending on education and experience
Requirements:
Must have a technical degree, certification, or training in welding and/or metal fabrication
Must have 4+ years of recent metal fabrication/welding experience with the job duties and equipment listed below.
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and schematics
Advanced mathematical skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
This company requires a pre-hire drug screening and background check
Summary:
The Metal Fabricator/Welder will create metal components, brackets and fixtures used in the assembly of electrical transformers. To ensure success as a metal fabricator, you should have experience in industrial metalwork, strong attention to detail, and excellent mathematical skills.
Job Duties:
Fabricate and construct metal components
Metals used will include copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and zinc-plated metals
Machinery and tools used will include grinders, plasma cutters, presses, benders, drills, crimpers, and Stick/TIG/MIG welders
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Measure and mark out cutting and bending lines
Set up metalwork machinery
Double-check design specifications and measurements before commencing with work
Cut, crimp, and heat shrink electrical wires
Grind and finish completed products
Perform detailed quality checks on completed parts and components to ensure adherence to specifications
Ensure a safe work environment, complying with all safety regulations
Complete job reports
Maintain all tools and equipment
Communicate regularly with Design Engineering and Production/Assembly teams regarding fabrication needs and any quality issues
