Job Description
Tig & Laser Welder (1st Shift)
Key Responsibilities
Perform quality welds using TIG with a foot pedal and/or Laser processes
Knowledge of metals and characteristics of different alloys – down to 19-gauge material
Read and understand blueprints and welding callouts in designs
Use various measuring methods and tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and scales
Operate other hand-welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch or similar for cutting, heating, or brazing
Conduct assessments to verify critical weld requirements are met Understand fixturing and use of tools to achieve proper fitment of parts prior to welding
Proper use of all necessary safety protocols and personal protective equipment
Communicate effectively to work in a team environment to ensure safe and efficient work and help drive continual improvement

Physical/Mental Requirements:
Proficient in tig welding thin gauge sheet steel and aluminum
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure,
using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio,
and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
The employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to
walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch,
or crawl.
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving
mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $24.00 to $30.00 per hour. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
