Welder Position Available In Iredell, North Carolina

Essential Job Functions + Follow Nelson Global standards, policies and objectives. + Performs MIG welding for both stainless and mild steel materials. + Welds unfamiliar parts using only a full-scale drawing. + Fabricates directly from drawings, samples, or instructions without supervision. + Inspects finished product to ensure accuracy. + Communicates with other departments as necessary. + Maintains general housekeeping for work area. Knowledge, skills and abilities required + Knowledge of welding equipment and ability to adjust and solve problems as needed. + Good communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to do basic math, including decimals and percentages. + Must be able to adjust welding machine as necessary. + Must be able to work independently. + Must have basic computer skills. + Must have working knowledge of common materials. + Must have general knowledge of pre-determined, routine procedures to include loading and unloading of parts in machines, part inspection, blueprint reading, full scale drawing use and knowledge of inspection tool use. Education and Experience Required + At least one year of experience welding. MIG/TIG preferred. + Must successfully complete a welding test as part of the screening process. Physical Requirements + Performing these duties will involve lifting, pulling, or pushing physical objects; standing, stooping and bending, walking and standing for long periods of time. + Continuous mental and visual attention is required. + Requires constant alertness and attention to detail. + Work involves likelihood of irregularity of work schedule and/or overtime to meet customer demands. + Working in hot, cold, noisy work areas and exposure to odors, fumes, and dust. + Lift up to 30 lbs. consistently. + Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally. + Continuous mental and visual attention is required. + PPE’s include safety glasses, ear plugs if required, and steel-toed boots.
