About this role:

The Welder II is responsible for performing precise layout andfit-up work using fixtures or positioners, and welding variousmetals utilizing Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG, or Submerged arcprocesses. This position requires you to assemble fabricated metalproducts efficiently, ensuring strong, smooth, and consistent weldswhile adhering to safety protocols and reporting any equipmenthazards.

Key responsibilities:

Performs layout and fits up work using fixtures orpositioners Welds various metals using Pulsed MIG, Short-arc MIG orSubmerged arc processes Uses MIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products in anefficient manner to maximize production Operates the equipment in a safe manner and reports hazardsassociated with the equipment to the supervisor Produces strong penetrated welds that are smooth, non-porousand consistent Follows required procedures and uses appropriate jigs andfixtures to assist in the assembly process Performs a variety of brazing functions encompassing allmaterials Performs hand grinding and forming work as needed Cleans and maintains an orderly work area Communicates effectively with others Assists other individuals in area when needed Required qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Two-year experience in manufacturing welding using Pulsed MIG,Short-arc MIG or Submerged arc processes; ASMEcertification Ability to lift 50 pounds Physical ability to work and weld in awkward positions such askneeling, lying down and overhead

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to pass an onsite 6G certification test Knowledge of the welding process and equipment Ability to weld vertical, flat and overhead welds with a goodpenetration and a quality appearance Ability to operate a plasma cutter and acetylenetorches Math skills including fractions and angles Ability to read tape measures and angle finders Ability to read blueprint drawings and cut lists Good communication skills relative to supervisor and otherrelated departments Trained in overhead crane operation Ability to climb and work from a ladder Ability to operate various shop tools including power andmanually operated wrenches Able to work weekends and over-time RSRCAR #LI-Onsite Carrier is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
