Hourly rate $27-30 perhour depending on experience. $2/hour shift differential PrimaryPurpose Perform all required duties relating to Gas Tungsten Arcwelding (GTAW) of investment castings.
CANDIDATES OFFEREDEMPLOYMENT ARE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST &BACKGROUND STUDY PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT
Major Responsibilities Ability to weld by method of GTAW for rework, repair andcosmetic upgrade in accordance with customer specifications andinternal procedures. Candidate is progressing towards weldingcertification for all alloys. Evaluate castings to ensure preparation from prior operation isadequate. Assess the condition of the castings to determine weldtechnique. Perform additional weld preparation with the use of die andbelt grinders. Operate and maintain welding machines and equipment. Ability to document weld locations and dimensions. Identify and implement improvement opportunities through theuse of lean tools such as Systematic Problem Solving, ProcessManagement, Value Stream Mapping, etc. Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices andprocedures. Ability to work overtime Attendance/Reliability Ability to work at the Chittenango facility
MinimumQualifications and Experience Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree(GED)
Experience:
Formal training or classes a plus.
Certifications/Licenses:
Maintain welding certification for
GTAW Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
LANGUAGE SKILLS
•Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safetyrules, operating and maintenance instructions, simple drawings,procedure manuals and Internal Method Sheets (IMS). Ability tospeak effectively and interact with other team members, engineersand leadership.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
•Ability to add, subtract,multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,common fractions, and decimals. Ability to deal with problemsinvolving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
REASONING ABILITY
•Ability to solve practical problems and dealwith a variety of concrete variables in situations where onlylimited standardization exists. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonableaccommodations. Some positions require vision screening with or withoutcorrective lenses. Working Conditions The physical effort applied in this job includes lifting,pulling, reaching, manipulating, carrying, pushing, orshoveling. Welding requires repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms.
