Watson McDaniel is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Welder/Fitter to join our factory fabrication team. This hands-on position plays a key role in the construction of ASME Code Stamped pressure vessels and other fabricated components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, pipefitting, and metal fabrication within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG and TIG welding on pipe, tanks and pressure vessels. Fit and weld full-penetration joints on both plate and pipe. Interpret and work from shop fabrication drawings, specifications, weld symbols, and bills of materials. Execute layout, tacking, grinding, welding, and finishing tasks independently Complete welding tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines and staying within allocated labor hours. Maintain a clean and safe work environment; routinely clean tools, equipment, and workstations. Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes safely. Perform additional cross-functional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of
MIG & TIG
welding and fitting experience (pipe, tanks, or boilers). Ability to pass a 2G welding test within one week of hire (6G certification is a plus). Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and weld documentation. Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds and working in a manufacturing environment. Strong work ethic with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with ASME Code Stamped pressure vessels. Familiarity with tube expanders/rollers.
