Welder Job Description We are seeking a skilled welder to join our team. The role involves using MIG welding techniques to weld trailer components, utilizing processes such as gas metal arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc. The welder will safely operate welding gear and equipment, examine workpieces for defects and quality, and perform repairs as needed. Additionally, the welder will use measuring tools to lay out, position, align, and secure parts before assembly and monitor welding processes to prevent material distortion. Responsibilities Use MIG welding techniques to weld trailer components. Operate welding gear and equipment safely. Examine workpieces for defects and perform necessary repairs. Utilize measuring tapes, combination squares, and levels for part alignment and assembly. Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating and material distortion. Sign off on completed work orders and ensure quality of work. Maintain, organize, and clean the workstation and equipment. Essential Skills Experience with MIG welding and processes such as gas metal arc, plasma arc, and shielded metal arc. Ability to use hand tools, grinders, and other manufacturing equipment. Proficient in blueprint reading and fabrication. Experience with material handling, including loading and packing. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with TIG welding and flux core welding is a plus. Familiarity with stainless steel fitting and grinding. Ability to work with construction and manual labor tasks. Experience in using measurement tools accurately. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MARYVILLE, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr.
