Community Development Assistant Town of Summerdale Summerdale, AL 36580 Job Summary The Community Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the mission of our organization by engaging with the community, managing outreach initiatives, and assisting in the development of programs that foster community involvement. This position requires a proactive individual with strong communication skills and a passion for nonprofit work. The Community Assistant will work closely with various stakeholders to enhance community relationships and drive strategic initiatives. Duties Assist in the development and implementation of strategic planning initiatives to enhance community engagement. Manage budgeting processes for community programs, ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Write grant proposals to secure funding for community projects and initiatives. Utilize software tools for project management and data analysis to track program effectiveness. Execute email marketing campaigns to promote events and initiatives within the community. Maintain and update content on WordPress websites to ensure information is current and accessible. Oversee social media management, creating engaging content that promotes community events and fosters interaction. Support nonprofit management activities, including volunteer coordination and event planning. Utilize Raiser Edge software for donor management and fundraising efforts. Negotiate partnerships with local businesses and organizations to enhance program offerings. Qualifications Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and grant proposal writing is preferred. Familiarity with various software tools relevant to project management and data analysis. Strong skills in email marketing, WordPress, social media management, and nonprofit management. Experience with Raiser Edge or similar donor management systems is a plus. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A passion for community service and a commitment to supporting nonprofit missions.
