Director of Storytelling 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars 1200 West Montgomery Road, Tuskegee, AL 36088 Position Information Position Title Director of Storytelling Status Full Time Job Summary The Director of Storytelling is a strategic creative leader responsible for developing and executing compelling narratives to convey the university’s mission, values, and brand story for publications, the web, social media, or video. Core responsibilities of the position include developing and implementing strategic messaging that tells the TU story while working with internal clients and external vendors to promote a consistent message across all platforms. Essential Job Duties Excellent writing and self-editing skills with a strong understanding of narrative structure and storytelling techniques across various channels Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and negotiate approval process Experience managing publications from conception to delivery is a plus. Ability to develop, implement and manage TU strategic communications plan to include and consider timelines, plan implementation, multi-channel campaigns, multiple audiences and the TU brand. Build relationships with academic chairs, deans, and administrative directors and coordinators to learn how to best meet the marketing needs of the university Coordinate with Admissions, Alumni Affairs, Athletics, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Agriculture and Animal Science, and Development to prioritize communications strategies. Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training) Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or related subject Ability to report and write on deadline. Writing samples are required. 5-7 years of experience writing for newspapers, magazines, or websites. Experience in higher education preferred. Physical Demands Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to walk short distances Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items Ability to view a computer terminal

Collaborating with freelance writers, designers, videographers, and other content creators to execute storytelling initiatives. Ensuring consistency in brand voice and tone across all communication channels.

Identifying key brand narratives and translating them into compelling stories for various audiences.
