Full Time Job Summary The Regional Director of Development – Midwest & Northeast is responsible for managing a portfolio of alumni, parents, and friends with the capacity to make gifts of $100,000 or more in the states of Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. This individual will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects to support Tuskegee University’s comprehensive campaign and institutional priorities. This is a remote position with regular travel throughout the assigned region and to Tuskegee University. Essential Job Duties
Manage a portfolio of at least 100 qualified prospects
Conduct 10-12 substantive donor engagements per month
Prepare and present personalized proposals to major gift prospects
Collaborate with the Director of Legacy and Estate Giving, Director of Annual Giving, and Executive Director of Development for coordinated engagement strategies
Support regional alumni events and help build a local volunteer network
Maintain accurate prospect records in the university’s CRM
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
Bachelor’s degree required (any discipline)
Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or communications

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Knowledge of Tuskegee University’s history, mission, and alumni community
Understanding of advancement, fundraising, or alumni engagement processes
Cultural competency and demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
Physical Demands
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Ability to walk short distances
Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
Ability to view a computer terminal

Skills and Attributes Knowledge:

Strong track record of relationship development and goal achievement

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with fundraising or CRM platforms (e.g. Raiser’s Edge) is a plus.
Strong writing, communication, and editing skills with an ability to produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences.
Proven organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Experience managing or working with scholarship system (e.g., AcademicWorks, Blackbaud Award Management, etc.) strongly preferred

Ability to work independently and travel frequently
