COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER PERMANENT-FULL TIME ALABAMA

About the role: As the Community Liaison Officer, you’ll supportcritical part of the Community Team that delivers communitystrategy for Drax Group in the US. Within this role, you’ll help tobuild trust and support the delivery of business objectives inDrax’s operating communities in the US.You’ll be responsible forpromoting strong and effective communications and relationshipsbetween Drax and the local community, including participation in alocal Community Advisory Panel. You will proactively buildrelationships with local community leaders, non-profitorganizations, and traditionally under-represented voices withinour operating communities. You will also be the first point ofcontact for a range of community enquiries.
As part of this role,you will work cross-functionally with our Sustainability andCorporate Affairs teams, including the Communications andInternational Affairs teams, to ensure close alignment of communityengagement agendas. You will also work closely with the widerCommunity team and other Community Liaison Officers.
In addition,you’ll work with the Operations team members to address communityconcerns related to local plant operations. Coordinate with variousinternal teams to ensure a unified approach to community relationsand corporate social responsibility efforts. You will beresponsible for the following:
Support Community Inquiries:
Serve as the initial point of contact for community-relatedquestions and concerns Ensure timeline and effective communication of community issuesand feedback the Community Manager and local operations team Act as the primary contact for responding to inquiries throughthe Community Grievance Mechanism Relay inquiries to the appropriate teams and ensure aclosed-loop process to facilitate solutions and follow-up
CommunityFund Support:
Collaborate with the Community Manager to identity localnon-profit organizations and projects that align with the CommunityFund’s purpose Participate in the selection process and providerecommendations for funding support Coordinate the processing of donations to ensure timely andefficient distribution of funds
Community Outreach and StakeholderRelations:
Build and strengthen relationships with local communityleaders, schools, non-profit organizations, and otherstakeholders Engage with the community to understand local priorities andconcerns, and communicate these insights to the organization toenhance community involvement and support strategic communityinitiatives Provide input into the development and execution of thecommunity engagement plan
Event Coordination and Participation:
Arrange and participate in local community events, focusgroups, and meetings Represent the organization at community events and ensureactive participation and engagementWho we’re looking for: To besuccessful in this role you’ll ideally have Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, or inrelated field is required. Experience of working in a community outreach, relationshipbuilding, and public engagement Ability to build and maintain strong relationships withinternal and external stakeholders Strong understanding in overseeing complex projects with anemphasis on achieving strategic outcomes. Be willing to travel 50% of the time to Drax’s AL sites whereDrax has operations in the US, and develop an understanding of theunderlying forces issues that face these communities Must have experience working with community organizations,non-profit organizations and local stakeholders.
