Full Job Description Overview:
This position serves as a project manager and editor and is responsible for managing strategic communications initiatives and core internal communications programs and tools. Also serves as communications lead for key projects, supports executive and management-level leaders, manages department needs and guides team in director’s absence. Directs work of strategic communications staff in significant portion of their regular internal communications responsibilities, serves as team lead and/or provides oversight of team members for key projects and provides full supervision of one or two communications interns each semester. Supports issues management and serves as lead for internal/corporate issue response in director’s absence.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a relevant area is required; a master’s degree in one of these areas is preferred. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of five years of communications experience, preferably in a hospital/health care setting. Relevant experience includes serving as a lead writer and editor responsible for editorial content planning and production; working as a project manager, creating and implementing strategic communications and promotions plans; and leading collaborative project teams, ideally in a corporate or academic communications environment. Supervisory experience is also preferred.
